Environmental Impact and Appropriate Assessments for an Aparthotel in Ahtopol

P-United prepared the Environmental Impact Assessment and Appropriate Assessment reports for a proposed aparthotel with a swimming pool in Ahtopol, on Bulgaria’s southern Black Sea coast. We provided comprehensive support throughout the assessment procedure, from preparing documentation to participating in the public hearing and expert environmental council meeting.

Challenge

Developing tourist accommodation on the southern Black Sea coast requires careful consideration of the natural environment, protected sites and local residents’ quality of life. Our task was to assess potential impacts and guide the client through the environmental assessment procedure.

Approach

We brought together a multidisciplinary team covering biodiversity, water, soils, air quality, landscape, health risk and cultural heritage, supported by GIS analysis. We prepared the required documentation, EIA and Appropriate Assessment reports, and participated in consultations, the public hearing and the expert environmental council meeting.

Outcome

We delivered a comprehensive environmental assessment and expert support through the key stages of the procedure. The client’s reference confirms the quality of our work, timely delivery and compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
